August Wall Art, “Preamble to US Constitution”
When did our public schools stop teaching civics…and this kind of American history? Here is my graphic, PREAMBLE poster. Seems suitable for an August wall art selection leading up to an election in 80 or so days. Will be posting several times over next couple of months. A number of citizens seem to be clueless about the document, what it signifies, what it marks, what it introduces and what it means. I wonder– maybe I should commit to memory…it’s buried down there, somewhere. Maybe it needs only to be resurrected.
This is one of a series of USA Poster offerings from George Delany Art. I’ve been hankering after work like this for years–feeling my own distance from the topic, perhaps. But in this day and age, there is no problem with such distance. We are right here and now facing our own legacy, stewardship and the need to embrace who we are as a nation. I am getting tuned up for whatever is to be required. Here, you see the graphic print in more detail. All prints use archival materials, paper and pigments. Do not hang in or near sunlight. This is digital technology, after all.
Here in mid-August, are we looking at fall, already? I notice squirrels running across the road, some birds seem to have departed the premises, flowers are well past peak at this time. Honey-bees are frantic. Fall…can’t be! I invite you here in mid-August, amidst the pandemic, economic travail, geopolitical upheaval and national forbearance to reflect, to buy an art print…(have you ever purchased an art print?), to investigate GeorgeDelanyArt… try two neat features on my site you may enjoy:
The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.
Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.
This is my “business advice,” for the week– I find it energizing and uplifting to revisit during these tumultuous times our own rich history and legacy. The more tumultuous times seem to become, the more respect and admiration I have for the determination, resolve, creativity and integrity of our Founding Fathers. Personally, I find myself unwilling to compromise on any of this. Where are you on the topic of our American history, legacy and the concept of living into a “more perfect union”?
