Mid-August Wall Decor, “Flo’s Steamed Hot Dogs, Famous Hot Dog Vendor”
Yes, we’ve had a few this season, a few hot dogs, that is. We’re hot dog fans, here. No, we don’t eat them every night or every week, but on a hot summer night with corn, fresh tomatoes, and hamburgers, there is a place for the hot dog. Now, with the Pandemic, we have not been able to get up to Maine to visit Flo, but that day is coming.
When we’re in the York Harbor area of Maine, we make a point of getting out on the old Route 1 highway to get in line….for a Flo’s Steamed Hot Dog, or two. Part of the life, up here. We dress it up with Flo’s special sauce and a generous supply of toppings such as you see here. I admit, I thought at the time, “This is an odd image,” and I still believe this is true. But it rings my chimes now, after looking at it for some couple of summers. Here in the Pandemic, I could stand a few Flo’s Steamed Hot Dogs.
As August winds down, the air has changed, animals notice it– so do I! Birds for some reason have disappeared, Catbirds, Robins, Finches, Wrens, two that only recently moved into one of our new birdhouses, have taken mysterious leave. What is this, wild cats moving thru the property? Why? I don’t know. Maybe they will return, soon. But, I invite you here in mid-August, amidst the pandemic, economic travail, national politics, geopolitical tensions and national forbearance to reflect, to buy an art print…(have you ever purchased an art print?), to investigate GeorgeDelanyArt… try two neat features on my site you may enjoy:
The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.
Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.
This is my “business advice,” for the week– Even the lowly hot-dog can find a place on the wall. Amidst all the great art, the wonderful paintings, invaluable originals, inspiring prints for everybody, there is a place for the ordinary hot-dog on my wall. How about yours? What are the lowly images that animate your life? That perhaps you adore, or find some secret personal satisfaction in acknowledging? Hot-dog art is my suggestion, this week. Thanks for your interest and support.
