Wrapping up my summer painting stint...pictured here, an event that occurred only a couple of days ago…been working on this painting for a couple of months, very nearly complete, I am on my way to my neighbor’s house to show her this work. She is 98 years old. This work has been inspired by my neighbor and her beautiful farm, one I’ve come to know well during the time we’ve lived so fortunately as her neighbor.
The painting I am calling, “Farmer,” for this reason. My neighbor has over the years helped me understand what it is to be a farmer, period. To say she is an “amazing woman,” is an understatement, believe me.
This is also a first, of sorts. I normally don’t blog about much that is not posted on George Delany Art. Prints of this painting will be available soon, but are not, at present. Before October is out this image will be added to the painting collections and a link will be made available.

Work selfie, after a painting session…still some video clips to wrap up. The painting is oil-on-canvas, 48″ x 36″– why has it taken me so long to cover this topic? If you believe in Sacred Spaces and Places, then understand, this is one for me, this farm.

Summer ends, here we are on the cusp of Fall, 2020. On this late September day…temperatures are crisp, will be near forty degrees tonight; honey-bees have had by my observation a very busy day taking pollen into their hives in preparation for the cold seasons just ahead. There are not yet too many colored leaves around and about, but there are a few. The garden is a bit shabby, it too, has reached its peak and is responding to diminishing light and falling temps. See my art site for other fall, wall-art possibilities.

As the season turns, amidst the continued pandemic, economic trial and uncertainty, national politics, geopolitical tensions and national forbearance present every day, consider “changing up,” your wall art collection by purchasing an art print — (have you ever purchased an art print?), perhaps investigate GeorgeDelanyArt… and do try two neat features on my site you may enjoy:
The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.
Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.
Check out the several categories of original art and prints on my site; Instagram pix, photos, paintings, illustrations, limited editions, original painted works and Americana posters.
This is my “business advice,” for the week– What a glorious late summer day, today. Honestly, I have no business advice to offer except as my glee-club instructor used to say to all of us before a big concert, “Savor it.” Today is a day to savor. I show my neighbor my new painting. She savors it. I savor it. We savor it. There is nothing more important than to savor what you are challenged by and love, right? This is my business advice, pretty much every day– so Linked In won’t be too happy to hear this, but it’s still true. Thank you for your interest in my creative efforts. New “Farmer” prints to come, shortly!
