Fall Wall Art,Big Boy 1

I like this post, already. Among our many beautiful chicks, hens and roosters over the years was one of my favorites, this Silver Laced Wyondotte. Big Boy 1, otherwise affectionately known as Roscoe the Magnificent. Roscoe rose up from a baby chick to take command of the whole chicken coop where he remained the force to be reckoned with…for several years until one of his cockerel sons knocked him off his perch and superseded him!

From series of acrylic studies painted on wooden shingles, this is “Big Boy 1

Roscoe the Magnificent survived rat attacks, raccoon attacks, Coyote attacks, Hawk attacks, skunk attacks…he was truly the Big Boy 1. In the world of chickens, life proceeds like it does in our world. If you don’t defend your coop, it will fall. I am so glad I included this bird in my short series of chickens, each one painted on an ordinary wooden shingle, from which these nifty prints are offered. Here, you see a bedroom art gift idea, Roscoe hangs triumphantly above the bed; bear in mind, you can print this image on a variety of materials through my website; canvas, paper, glossy, matte, plastic, wood, acrylic and metal. I like to experiment with digital imagery on a mix of materials. The results are often captivating.

Have you ever purchased a graphic print? Maybe this year, instead of just another commercial gadget, you might consider a different kind of gift, an art print. These are all done using high-quality materials. Strong suggestion…ORDER NOW, and add ten days to your production turn-around time. You are not TOO LATE, but you are brushing up against the limits of possibility…before Christmas Day arrives. COVID and shopping pressures have complicated delivery times, so the smart art print holiday shopper will act sooner rather than later.

Check out two unusual features on my art site: The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.

Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.

This is my “business advice,” for the week– Here we are in the Christian tradition…in the Season of Advent…the season of waiting; waiting on the arrival of the Son of God, a major interruption in the unfolding of the human experience in time and space. To this, I can add what we all know– yes, we are waiting, all right. In this odd and trying year, we are waiting for a lot of things. So many people in our country are hurting beyond what most of us may understand or grasp; for food, clothing, a roof overhead, schools to open up, parents to return to work, small business owners to continue their commitments to self-employment as the only means of raising a family, paying bills, creating a viable and prosperous future– this is, in part, what we are waiting for. Some essential questions are painfully in need of an answer. Are our leaders as smart as we think they are? For some decades now, has our political class defended and protected this nation? Our leaders and their often un-elected bureaucrats tell us almost daily what we can do, what our children can do, what we can’t do…our national mental health is taxed, wounded, ailing, and in jeopardy of implosion…our Founding Fathers must cringe, in outrage. The Covid shut-down, the lack of leadership, mis-guided leadership while people atrophy and die in all too many cases is for me, appalling. Yes, we are waiting, this year. Advent teaches us..there will be a resolution one day, and I hope one day, soon. Perhaps a catharsis. A redemption. A moving ahead, one way or the other. Let us commit to finding our way…on behalf of one another.
