Fall Wall Decor, “Rum Runner“
Newport, Rhode Island in late summer. Here we are walking Bannister’s Wharf, Bowen’s Wharf, hobnobbing among the shops and restaurants with other tourist folks. This was the scene when I stumbled on this famous Newport waterfront vessel, “Rum Runner.” That was it. I snapped a few photos which served as the basis for the oil-on-canvas painting. In turn, prints are provided from this original work.

Above, you can get a sense of this work installed in a bedroom setting. On my website, you’ll see a variety of other possibilities; sitting room, home office, conference room, restaurant…which will allow you to imagine how this work might appear in your particular setting. You can also use your phone and Augmented Reality to imagine this print on a particular wall you may have in mind. Very nifty application. This image remains one of my favorite scenes of Newport, and is among my favorite images painted of localities in and around the resort town.

Have you ever purchased a graphic print? Maybe this year, instead of just another commercial gadget, you might consider a different kind of gift, an art print. These are all done using high-quality materials– pigments, papers and framing materials. Time is passing. This week, if you order right now, there is no guarantee we can deliver in time for Christmas Day. COVID and shopping pressures have complicated delivery times this year, regrettably.
Check out two unusual features on my art site: The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.
Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.
Check out the several categories of original art and prints on my site; Instagram pix, photos, paintings, illustrations, limited editions, original painted works and Americana posters.
This is my “business advice,” for the week– Let me keep it short, this week. The Holyday Season is upon us. What is your response? In a litigious, increasingly secular, still very materialistic society, what drives you to participate in this season of the year? I don’t want to know the answer– but I do like the question, most especially in such uncertain economic times amidst a global pandemic, in anticipation of a new administration all within a highly polarized society. What does the Holiday Season mean to you, this season? Merry Christmas.
Here is another blog post from my art site…you may find of interest; also, a link to a short promotional Chant video.
