Spring Wall Decor “The Story“
There are those who say, “Lose your myths, lose your society.” I believe there is truth in this sentiment. Easter gives us a chance…on behalf of our children and grandchildren… to recommit to our myths, our stories, our binding connections, those upon which society with all its flaws and all its successes, has depended since our founding. Easter gives us an opportunity not just personally, but societally, to step back and at the same time, into our most cherished beliefs, and to recommit to revitalizing them, rebuilding, reconstituting, re-energizing and perhaps even here in the 21st century, reimagining the very forms in which they must come to be in order to succeed. I don’t believe the creative experience our Founding Fathers knew as it unfolded in their time was appreciably different from that which we face in our time. They attempted to forge history, I mean, the lives they knew, in a different manner, toward a different ideal, and were in many cases willing to lay down their lives to push the whole enormously perilous undertaking along. Below is a sketch I have done, pencil, black-and-white ink, I call “The Story.” This Easter week prints are available.
Have you ever purchased a graphic print? Maybe this year, instead of just another commercial gadget, you might consider a different kind of gift, an art print. These are all done using high-quality materials– pigments, papers and framing materials. I invite you to visit this site often in 2021. Buy a print every now and again, one that moves you. I will make every effort to complete your order in a timely manner, despite COVID-related production concerns.
Check out two unusual features on my art site: The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above.
Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff.
This is my “business advice,” for the week: At Easter, we have a chance yet again to discover our own rebirth. In nature, this is what is happening, right now. Birds and bees…not to mention chickens, sheep, so many animals…are frenetic with new life. We get another opportunity to reflect, reconsider, recommit to the story, the mythology at the center of our society. We can go with those who insist society is no good and who have precious little to offer as a new foundation save recycled, trash from prior centuries– and the oh-so-fashionable, Politically Correct, not to overlook the ever-pernicious Cancel-culture…or we can live into anew those ideals that come down through Divinity to help us live our lives with at little woe and as much love as possible. I will make every effort to live into these ideals, anew–and after the year we have just experienced would wish the same for you and yours. Happy Easter, 2021 and may your lives be filled with new Hope, new Opportunity, and new Love.
