Winter Prints “The Star Spangled Banner“
The most popular from my “Who We Are,” collection of Americana Posters, here is a version of the Star-Spangled Banner, one that incorporates the American flag that hung in front of this house on 9.11.01. At a time when Ukraine is under a brutal Russian assault, when democracies throughout the West are threatened, when our own fragile Democracy is under relentless trivialization, diminution and assault, here is my contribution.
Below is a more detailed look at at the poster. The first two printings were produced via offset lithography. These have sold out. You can order this print on demand, now, and customize the way the print is produced prior to being mailed. When you receive it, the print will exemplify your particular choices– printing material, matte, frame, and hanging hardware. It will be ready to hang right out of the box.
Question for you: Have you ever purchased a graphic print? An art print? Maybe right now, with Spring a couple of weeks away– instead of just another commercial gadget, you might consider a different kind of gift, an art print. Lift someone’s spirits! Giving art, giving prints can be a joyful experience…even in a dismal time such as now. When I give a print, it most assuredly is a joyful experience– most especially during these “Drearies” of early March.
Prints are all produced using high-quality materials– pigments, papers and framing materials. I invite you to visit often, as the new year moves into latter February. Buy a print every now and again, one that moves you. As the Pandemic may be now winding down, what better way to celebrate than…with a late-winter art print…a lighthouse print, perhaps, or a poster with a patriotic theme, not a bad gift choice for a friend or relative, post President’s Day.
Two unusual and decidedly helpful features on my art site: The first– WALL Preview, a capability that visualizes your art selection in your specifications as seen in different settings; living room, bedroom, sitting room, conference room, these sorts of things, as referenced, above. Secondly, the Live Augmented Reality feature that allows you to see your chosen art work on YOUR wall…in your setting. Pretty exciting stuff, an under-appreciated feature.
“Business Advice” for day: On this day, over a million Ukrainians have left their homes for another land. Many do not know where they are going or where they will wind up. Video clips depict civilians being shelled as they try to escape the horror of the Russian onslaught, “Putin’s War,” a nightmare. For millions around the world, “Doing the right thing,” has taken on a new and urgent call. People from the world over are reportedly registering for Bed and Breakfast reservations in the Ukraine, having no intention to visit Ukraine. The reservation is simply a means of transferring money to Ukrainians in dire need of help. Social media support, such as it is. The creativity Ukrainians display in developing tools and weapons to fight the Russian army is over-the-top impressive. Have you seen the devices welded together and thrown into streets to disable, hobble and slow down the caravan of Russian tanks and armored vehicles headed toward Kiev? Old ladies making Molotov cocktails. Men returning from foreign lands to fight for the life of Ukraine. We can only hope that in the operation of our businesses throughout this historic period, our passions, commitments, principles and underlying values align in any manner even remotely similar to that which Ukrainian citizens demonstrate before the world to be central to the core character of human-kind. Let us offer our own “Glory to Ukraine” prayers to the Cosmos at this critical moment when the global order seems so wrangled and imperiled.
You may find my new NFT art of interest, seen here on Rarible. I will be offering new NFTs of original art as this year unfolds. Some short videos of creative work are now on YouTube. Find a mixed-bag on Soundcloud. Build your print collection this year. You can see all this on Linktr.ee.
A special thanks for your interest and support of my work.
