Fall Art Prints “Tidal Pond Wonder“
While walking along the shore of a tidal pond in York, Maine, one fall afternoon, I passed the most delightful, simple scene just off my shoulder to the right. I snapped this photo, one that captures the day, season and moment pretty well! Today, still in mid-October, the colors all about are bright, beautiful and beguiling just as they appeared in this brilliant tidal-pond scene on that day. Below, my original, “Tidal Pond Wonder,” in all its simplicity. I added the border as it reminds me of all those Rolleiflex images I took thru many years, and how each image would come up in the film frame identified, in detail…just a graphic throw-back, honestly. The color of the type, the iconography and the leaves below tie together in a harmonious composition. Confess, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this magnificent camera and its unparalleled lense– one that sits in this digital age on my shelf, these days.

“Business Advice” for day: You may know…I don’t like the idea of giving business advice, these days. Times are so trying. So many small businesses struggle mightily or have failed, or are failing. We are told every day that with the Ukrainian war, energy supplies in Ukraine, in Europe and here at home will all suffer this winter, so we brace for the months just ahead. The idea of “running out” of gas, home heating fuel or electricity sounds positively perverse, and yet, here we are. I remain drawn to the idea of trying to make work what we can, in the best ways we know how. With our mid-term elections only a couple of weeks away, now, we also brace for any and all sorts of political shenanigans that may likely unfold in these days leading up to the event, itself. Don’t we all want the best for our Country? I used to believe this the case, but these days, signals, noises, themes, events, essays, general static in the air suggests some of us are no longer interested in this idea. I reject this notion, entirely. Here is a series of print images for those who believe in and support a new, reinvigorated, revitalized USA.
